# MCP Usage

***

### XoroERP MCP

**XoroERP MCP (Model Context Protocol)** provides a secure, AI-ready way to interact with business information in XoroERP through natural-language queries. Instead of manually navigating through multiple ERP screens and reports to find specific information, users can ask questions in conversational language and retrieve relevant business data through supported AI platforms.

MCP acts as a bridge between **XoroERP and AI applications**, allowing compatible AI clients to interact with approved XoroERP capabilities and retrieve information in a structured and meaningful way.

#### Turn ERP Data into Actionable Conversations

With XoroERP MCP, users can use AI to explore business information across areas such as **inventory, sales, purchasing, accounts payable, financial information, warehouse operations, and more**.

For example, instead of manually searching through multiple records, a user can ask questions such as:

* *What is the current inventory balance for a particular item?*
* *Show me the details of recent sales orders.*
* *What was our net sales performance for a specific period?*
* *Which purchase orders contain a particular product?*
* *Give me a summary of relevant financial information.*

The AI client can interpret the question, use the appropriate XoroERP capabilities, and present the resulting information in a conversational format.

#### Use XoroERP with the AI Platform of Your Choice

XoroERP MCP Usage module is designed around the **Model Context Protocol**, an open standard that enables AI applications to connect with external data sources and tools.

This lets you use XoroERP MCP with compatible AI platforms, including **ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and other MCP-compatible applications**. The connection and setup process may vary between platforms, but the underlying XoroERP MCP functionality remains the same.

#### Improve the Way You Work with ERP Data

XoroERP MCP can make everyday information retrieval more efficient by reducing the need to manually locate, filter, and interpret information across different ERP screens.

It can be particularly useful for:

* **Faster information retrieval** – Ask business questions directly instead of manually searching through records.
* **Conversational analysis** – Explore business information using natural-language follow-up questions.
* **Cross-functional insights** – Work with information spanning sales, purchasing, inventory, finance, and warehouse operations.
* **Reduced navigation** – Access relevant information without repeatedly moving between different ERP screens.
* **AI-assisted workflows** – Use familiar AI interfaces to interact with supported XoroERP business information.

{% hint style="info" %}
**The information and queries available through XoroERP MCP depend on the business areas and capabilities supported by the MCP connection.**
{% endhint %}

With XoroERP MCP, your ERP becomes more accessible through the AI tools you already use, providing a more conversational and efficient way to work with business information.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/other-products/mcp-usage.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
