Stage

Staging is the next stage after picking. Staging refers to the process of organizing and preparing picked items in a designated area before they are packed and shipped to the customer. Once the items are picked from various warehouse locations, they are gathered in the staging area where they are consolidated, inspected, and readied for packing and shipping.

To stage items, go to Home > Pick > Stage

In XoroWMS, there are two ways to stage items:

  1. Stage By Location

  2. Stage By OLPN

Stage By Location

The Stage By Location option allows you to stage items based on their warehouse location. This means that all the items picked from a specific location can be transferred to a designated staging area. This is how it works:

  • Enter the location: In the Location field, enter the warehouse location from which you want to transfer the items. This is the area where the picked items are currently stored.

  • Enter the stage location: In the Stage Location field, input the designated location where the items will be moved. Remember, this location should be of the "Staging Area" type within XoroERP.

  • Click "Stage": After entering the details, press Enter or click Stage to move the items from the specified location to the staging area.

Stage By OLPN

The Stage By OLPN option allows you to stage all the items within a specific OLPN . An OLPN typically contains grouped items; this method transfers all items in the OLPN to a staging area. This is how it works:

  • Enter the OLPN: In the OLPN# field, input the OLPN from which you want to transfer the items. This identifies the group of items to be staged.

  • Enter the stage location: In the Stage Location field, input the designated location where the items will be moved. Remember, this location should be of the "Staging Area" type within XoroERP.

  • Click "Stage": After entering the details, press Enter or click Stage to move the items from the specified location to the staging area.

FAQs

How do I unstage an order to adjust the picked quantity in WMS?

There is no documented shared "Unstage" action available in XoroERP WMS.

If you need to adjust the picked quantity after an order has been staged, the order must first be returned to a Picked or editable status using your site's stage-reversal process. The exact process depends on your warehouse configuration and operational workflow.

If the order cannot be returned to an editable state, escalate the issue to your system administrator or support team and provide the following information:

  • Wave Number

  • OLPN (Outbound License Plate Number)

  • Current Order Status

This information helps identify the shipment and determine the appropriate stage-reversal process for your environment.

Alternative: Use Inventory Movement for Temporary Inventory Relocation

If your objective is not to unstage the order, but rather to temporarily hold inventory at a specific warehouse location before it is picked or shipped, consider using the Inventory Movement functionality.

Inventory Movement allows warehouse personnel to transfer inventory from one location to another within the warehouse, enabling items to be staged, quarantined, inspected, or held in a designated location until they are ready for the next step in the fulfillment process. This helps maintain accurate inventory location tracking while supporting operational requirements such as quality checks, temporary storage, or replenishment.

Inventory Movement is intended for relocating inventory within the warehouse. It does not replace the stage-reversal process or modify the picking status of an order.

Summary

  • There is no common Unstage action available in XoroERP WMS.

  • To adjust picked quantities, return the order to a Picked or editable state using your site's stage-reversal process.

  • If stage reversal is unavailable, escalate the issue with the Wave Number, OLPN, and current order status.

  • If you simply need to keep inventory at a particular location for a period of time before fulfillment, use Inventory Movement to relocate the inventory while preserving accurate warehouse location tracking.
