# Move LPN

The "Move LPN" module in XoroWMS allows users to efficiently relocate inventory within your warehouse. This module enables you to quickly and accurately move LPNs (License Plate Numbers) to specific pallets or locations, ensuring seamless inventory tracking and management.

{% hint style="info" %}
To move the LPN, go to **Home > Receive > Move LPN**
{% endhint %}

### Move LPN fields

**LPN:** Enter the LPN number that you want to move and press **Enter**. Once entered, the details associated with the LPN, such as the current location or pallet information, will be displayed in the bottom section of the module.

**To Pallet/Location:** In this field, input the pallet number or location where you want to move the LPN inventory. You can specify either a pallet or a storage location, depending on your operational needs.&#x20;

* **Location:** Move all contents of the LPN to a designated location.
* **Random String (Invalid Location):** If a random string is scanned (i.e., not a valid location), a pallet will be generated with that name, and a pop-up will appear asking for the actual location. The LPN contents will then be moved to this newly created pallet at the specified location.
* **Existing Pallet:** If a valid pallet is scanned, the contents of the LPN will be transferred to the existing pallet and the corresponding location.

After entering the destination pallet or location, press **Enter** or click the **Accept** button to confirm the move.&#x20;

Once confirmed, the inventory will be transferred to the specified pallet or location.&#x20;

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FSlK5nAwBp0sChpw7kCfe%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3fef63d6-0838-4400-b934-bb077637d66b" alt="" width="378"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You can also scan multiple LPNs and move them collectively to the same destination location. When moving multiple LPNs, the LPNs must belong to the **same store** and have inventory available for movement.

### Move Multiple LPN fields

To scan multiple LPNs and move their inventory to the same location in a single inventory movement, follow the steps below:

**Step 1:** Go to **Inventory > Inventory by Location** and identify the LPNs that you want to move.

Verify that the selected LPNs belong to the same store and have inventory available for movement.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FL1rgsk4jxtkAnEZNWR48%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=d60fa205-0a6b-42d8-8db0-1880fab0ac75" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 2:** Open WMS. Go to **Home > Receive > Move LPN**. The **Move LPN** screen displays the **LPN** and **To Pallet/Location** fields.

**Step 3:** Enter or scan the first LPN in the **LPN** field and press **Enter**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FKPYua86ZvEyLMjQrAyG5%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=1e066c89-551b-467c-bc01-11ee0370ac84" alt="" width="392"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The system adds the LPN to the grid below the fields and displays information such as the LPN number, current location, and on-hand quantity.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FeCvf9zf1rakrvvBGWlDb%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ecb268fa-a5ad-419a-bcbf-ea1a0c6b7a28" alt="" width="392"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 4:** Enter or scan the next LPN in the **LPN** field and press **Enter**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FtB2tZNqRFifeNzrXPdV5%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=864790c5-bbbf-4cd8-bc7b-8cc87fcb1a2c" alt="" width="392"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The newly scanned LPN is added to the grid **below the previously scanned LPN**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FlJpEoZdsVU09Dwfqpt0E%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=f539c3ca-e30f-404d-9f40-ae680119e90f" alt="" width="392"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Repeat this process for each LPN that you want to move.

**Step 5:** In the **To Pallet/Location** field, enter or scan the destination location. Select the required location from **Location Centre**. Make sure the selected location is **active** before proceeding.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FV2RDfGYOzIKTCiz0gs44%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=78a273ca-2f0d-42de-9b81-aa6f9e2406eb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 6:** After all required LPNs have been added to the grid and the destination location has been selected, click **Accept**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FcPMpFOSONQV5YgfYh8pz%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=4424441d-cd7d-45f0-bae9-b6b355f81667" alt="" width="392"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The system moves the inventory from all selected LPNs to the specified location.

A confirmation message, *"Inventory movement completed successfully."*, is displayed when the movement is completed successfully.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/other-products/xorowms/wms-receive/move-lpn.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
