Enable Vehicle Fitment : Show Fitment Data for Automotive-Styled Products

What is Vehicle Fitment?

The Vehicle Fitment feature enables businesses selling automotive or vehicle-specific products to define and manage compatibility data for items based on Vehicle Make, Model, Year, and Sub Model.

When enabled, users can associate items with precise vehicle configurations, and this fitment information is surfaced in the B2B portal to help customers quickly verify whether a part fits their vehicle before purchasing.

This feature is designed for automotive parts, accessories, and equipment sellers who require structured compatibility data to reduce incorrect purchases and improve buyer confidence.

Key Benefits:

  • Allows detailed vehicle compatibility mapping at the item level

  • Improves buyer confidence in the B2B portal

  • Reduces product returns due to incorrect fitment

  • Enables structured, reusable fitment data across items

  • Supports both manual entry and batch upload of fitment records

  • A Vehicle Fitment tab appears in the Item sub form during both item creation and update. The Item Details form includes fields for Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model, Vehicle Year, and Vehicle Sub Model. The following validation rules apply:

    • Multiple fitment rows can be added per item where each row represents a single valid vehicle fitment combination.

    • Fitment rows can also be deleted individually.

    • Fitment data is saved at the item level and is displayed in the B2B presentation created when the flag Enable Vehicle Fitment Chart is enabled in the Presentation settings.

  • When creating or editing a B2B Presentation, a flag Enable Vehicle Fitment Chart becomes available in the Other Attributes tab.

How it Works:

Step 1: Enable the app configuration "Enable Vehicle Fitment" to manage and view fitment data for automotive-styled products.

Step 2: Users can create Vehicle Make, Model, Sub Model using the respective centres, or use existing records already available in the system.

Step3: To associate an item with compatible vehicles, navigate to the Vehicle Fitment tab in the Item sub form during item creation or update and define the relevant fitment details.

You can also use Upload Vehicle Fitment to add fitment data in bulk for multiple items in a single upload.

Step4: Enable flag Enable Vehicle Fitment Chart in the Presentation Centre to help customers filter and display fitment data of the products (added to the showroom) accordingly.

Step5: Users can now access vehicle selection filters on the homepage. Select the desired Vehicle Make, Model, Sub Model and Year from the dropdown menus and click the Search button.

Products are filtered based on the fitment details defined in the item sub form. Users can also reset the selected filters at any time and apply new filter criteria as needed.

Step6: When the user clicks the View Details option that appears on hovering over a product, a detail sub form opens displaying all relevant product information. A Vehicle Fitment Chart is shown within this popup, listing the associated Vehicle Make, Model, Sub Model, and Year combinations for which that product is compatible, allowing customers to quickly confirm fitment before adding the product to the cart.

Enhanced Filter Behavior:

  • Customers can select fitment filters in any order.

  • Earlier behavior required selecting filters sequentially. This restriction has been removed, providing a more flexible and user-friendly browsing experience.

Operational Notes and Best Practices:

To ensure accurate fitment data and a consistent customer experience, the following best practices are recommended:

  • Always create and validate Vehicle Make, Model, and Sub Model records before mapping fitment data to items or uploading fitment files.

  • When updating or removing fitment data, first delete the fitment mapping from the Item sub form before attempting to delete records from the fitment centres.

  • Use the Upload Vehicle Fitment option for high-volume updates to reduce manual effort and maintain data consistency.

  • After enabling the Enable Vehicle Fitment Chart flag in the Presentation Centre, validate the B2B portal by testing multiple vehicle combinations to ensure correct filtering and chart display.

Conclusion:

The Vehicle Fitment feature provides a structured and scalable solution for managing automotive compatibility data across item setup and the B2B portal.

By enabling centralized fitment masters, item-level vehicle mapping, bulk upload capabilities, and flexible customer-facing filters, this feature helps businesses reduce incorrect purchases, minimize returns, and improve buyer confidence. When configured and maintained correctly, Vehicle Fitment ensures customers can quickly verify product compatibility and make informed purchasing decisions with ease.
