# Show Sales History Data in Inventory Snapshot and Short Inventory Planner

### **What is Show Sales History Data in Inventory Snapshot and Short Inventory Planner?**

The **Show Sales History Data in Inventory Snapshot and Short Inventory Planner (SIP)** feature enables businesses to view historical sales quantities directly within the Inventory Snapshot and Short Inventory Planner modules.

When enabled, a **Sales History Qty Sold** column becomes visible in both modules. This allows users to see how many units of an item were sold without navigating away from inventory planning screens.

This feature is designed for inventory planners, purchasing teams, and operations managers who require quick visibility into past demand trends to make informed replenishment decisions and avoid stock imbalances.

***

### **Key Benefits:**

* Provides immediate access to historical sales quantities within planning modules
* Improves demand forecasting and reorder decision-making
* Reduces the need to navigate between modules for sales analysis
* Helps prevent overstocking and stockouts
* Enables faster operational planning using real sales data

* Users cannot view historical sales data directly within these modules. Historical sales information remains accessible only through the **Sales History tab within the Item Details sub form**. The Item Details sub form can be opened by double-clicking an item in the Item Centre.

2. Functionality **When App Config is Enabled**:

* A new column, **Sales History Qty Sold**, is now visible in the **Item Inventory Snapshot** and **Short Inventory Planner (SIP)** modules. This column displays the total quantity sold for each item.
* When a user clicks on the Sales History quantity value, a detailed **Sales History** sub form opens.

 The Sales History sub form can also be accessed through the following steps:

 * Double-click an item in the Item Centre.
 * The Item Details page opens.
 * Navigate to the **Sales History** tab.

 With this enhancement, XoroERP provides consistent and centralized access to item-level sales history across the system.

### **Operational Notes and Best Practices:**

* Use the Sales History Qty Sold column to compare historical demand against:
 * On Hand quantity
 * Available quantity
 * Incoming purchase orders
 * Short quantities
* When planning replenishment, review both current stock levels and historical sales data to make balanced purchasing decisions.
* Use the customer filter within the Sales History sub form to analyse purchasing behavior of specific customers when required.

***

### **Conclusion:**

The **Show Sales History Data in Inventory Snapshot and Short Inventory Planner** feature enhances inventory planning by embedding historical demand visibility directly into operational modules.

By making past sales quantities easily accessible within planning screens, this feature empowers businesses to make more accurate reordering decisions, reduce inventory risk, and improve overall supply chain efficiency. When enabled, it provides faster insights without requiring users to navigate across multiple modules, ensuring more confident and data-driven inventory management.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/xoroerp-1/configuration/application/app-config/inventory/show-sales-history-data-in-inventory-snapshot-and-short-inventory-planner.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
