# Shopify Fulfillment as Split Invoices

### Overview

Shopify Fulfillment as Fulfilled Invoices allows a single Shopify order to be fulfilled from multiple locations and imported into Xoro as separate invoices based on the fulfillment locations.

When items in a Shopify order are assigned to different fulfillment locations, Xoro creates a separate invoice for each fulfillment during import. The invoices retain the same Shopify order reference, while the **Ship Store** identifies the location associated with each fulfillment.

This allows each fulfillment to be invoiced separately in Xoro while maintaining its connection to the original Shopify order.

### Workflow

**Step 1:** Before importing Shopify fulfillments as invoices, configure the required settings in the Shopify channel. Go to the Shopify channel and open **Account Settings → Orders**.

**Step 2:** In the **Warehousing** section of the **Orders** tab, select **Invoices** on the **Invoices/Orders** toggle to process Shopify orders as invoices in Xoro.

**Step 3:** Enable the **Split orders** setting. The **Split Order Start Date** field appears. Enter the date from which Shopify orders should be split. Only orders placed on or after the specified date are split.

Under **Ship Store Location Mappings**, configure the mapping between the Shopify **Ship Store**, Xoro **Location**, and corresponding **Third Party Location**.

**Step 4:** Go to the **Products & Inventory** tab in the **Account Settings** page. In the **Inventory** section, under **Store Mapping**, configure the Shopify stores with their corresponding Xoro locations.

For example, if the **Brisbane** Shopify store is mapped to **HQ2**, ensure that **Brisbane** is also mapped to **HQ2** under **Store Mapping**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FnJzSYgkMGtQLSuMKL4qD%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3c2799de-d3e9-492e-89fa-69c46671e82c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 5:** In the **Advanced Settings** section, enable **Split orders to all available locations**.

When enabled, Xoro can split the order quantity across the selected locations when the required quantity is not available at a single location.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FovWRqHum1xWlfTTenRH4%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=99958e0f-6522-4e60-955b-41780bdb6822" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 6:** In Shopify, create an order containing the required items.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FQlQqQx3uen1XnfzUJmiD%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=de875cc7-8517-47f1-b7e5-a7ff18576437" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 7:** In the **Unfulfilled** section, click the menu represented by the **three horizontal dots** and select **Change location**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FmwQ3xNPbp5qY5WR5AA5G%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=5c1f8e1b-bbd6-4124-af52-c1cf1c56cdb6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 8:** Select the item you want to assign to a different fulfillment location and choose the required location from the **Assign selected items to** dropdown. Click **Change location**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2Fp13IK6C0PAb84azvcISk%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a98a61f2-ebc8-4394-949f-58d10e791e67" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FS4b9Twd1f0uZTBrPVXPV%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=059ff920-75e2-4265-bf69-cd08de38ffbb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 9:** Once the location is changed, Shopify separates the items into different fulfillment sections. Each fulfillment section displays the items assigned to its respective location.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FW8f38cMIKkrKBeNpV6A9%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e472f060-cfc0-4047-8a91-4f9d4f924374" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 10:** In the Xoro Shopify channel, go to **Orders** and import the Shopify order.

The Shopify order is processed based on its separate fulfillment locations and imported into Xoro as invoices instead of Sales Orders.

**Step 11:** After the import is completed, navigate to the **Invoice Centre** module in Xoro. Xoro creates separate invoices for the different Shopify fulfillments.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FlJ2Id2XnU8hoNEFzZ6fj%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=f93a89de-876a-4b76-ab71-b56a06733fd5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 12:** Verify that the created invoices retain the same **Ref Number**, linking them to the original Shopify order. Each invoice reflects the **Ship Store** associated with its respective fulfillment.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FfyV0gCBhCSOiZFDUmhwu%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=eb6cb9ba-94dc-4072-82f4-36203d8de522" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FYuuD7P5TKsoByoAKGewi%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=76bed66e-e950-4335-be96-12debb0c485e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the **Inventory Log** tab of the invoice, you can review the **Location** associated with the fulfilled item. This allows you to verify the location from which the item was fulfilled.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FJ2pZRRIq2nmFgcuE0uXc%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=287cc0ac-dda5-4e3d-b346-c44c9b987167" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}

* Inventory must be available at the respective mapped locations before importing the Shopify order.
* The locations used for fulfillment must be correctly configured in both **Ship Store Location Mappings** and **Store Mapping**.
  {% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/xoroerp-1/connected-apps/shopify/splitting-shopify-orders-by-fulfillment-location/shopify-fulfillment-as-split-invoices.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
