# Shopify Fulfillment as Split Orders

### Overview

Shopify Fulfillment as Split Orders allows a single Shopify order to be fulfilled from multiple locations. When different items in an order are assigned to different Shopify locations, the order can be split based on its fulfillment locations during import into Xoro.

Xoro creates a separate Sales Order for each fulfillment while retaining the same Shopify order reference. To uniquely identify the split Sales Orders, Xoro appends a sequential suffix to the **Third Party Ref No**, such as **-1** and **-2**.

This allows each fulfillment to be processed independently based on the location responsible for shipping the items, while maintaining the connection to the original Shopify order.

### Workflow

**Step 1:** Before importing split fulfillments, configure the required settings in the Shopify channel. Go to the Shopify channel and open **Account Settings > Orders**.

**Step 2:** In the **Warehousing** section of the **Orders** tab, select **Orders** on the **Invoices/Orders** toggle to process Shopify orders as Sales Orders in Xoro.

**Step 3:** Enable the **Split orders** setting. The **Split Order Start Date** field appears. Enter the date from which Shopify orders should be split. Only orders placed on or after the specified date are split.

Under **Ship Store Location Mappings**, configure the mapping between the Shopify **Ship Store**, Xoro **Location**, and corresponding **Third Party Location**.

**Step 4:** Go to the **Products & Inventory** tab in the **Account Settings** page.

**Step 5:** In the **Inventory** section, under **Store Mapping**, configure the Shopify stores with the corresponding locations used in the **Ship Store Location Mappings**.

For example, if a Shopify store is mapped to the **HQ** location under **Ship Store Location Mappings**, make sure the same store is mapped to **HQ** under **Store Mapping**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FKG8sllmwo4mjEMdC7QBg%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=0272371b-8d08-493d-8ba5-09cc4c3ac4d2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 6:** In the **Advanced Settings** section, enable **Split orders to all available locations**.

When enabled, Xoro can split the order quantity across the selected locations when the required quantity is not available at a single location.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2F04UflmwMwqNTm0zb91KH%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=155b51d7-d50a-4100-9ff6-93492f00f6b3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 7:** In Shopify, create an order containing two items.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FJZQjP7xEWrqOdTQtyScz%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2388cad6-8155-49ce-a2c8-4d83b75abc10" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 8:** In the **Unfulfilled** section, click the menu represented by the **three horizontal dots**. Select **Change location**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2F58i4q0l2Kk0WGaxM3NAy%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a90784c8-2c73-4f2b-bc3c-19a2b7400753" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 9:** Select one of the items and assign it to a different fulfillment location. Click **Change location**.

For example, one item can remain assigned to **4388 Still Creek Dr**, while the other item is assigned to **HQ**.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FYmwg48sXZqU7HbFE5k7c%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a0966286-5372-4a37-80d7-abb76ce164bf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once the location is changed, Shopify separates the items into different fulfillment groups. The original order now contains multiple fulfillment sections, with each section showing the items assigned to its respective location.

**Step 10:** In the Xoro Shopify channel, go to **Orders** and import the Shopify order. The order is processed based on its separate fulfillment locations.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2F69xTHyNItNp2yZDEkE7Q%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=62c3ac03-4222-41cf-8222-998891bbc876" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 11:** After the import is completed, go to the **Sales Order Centre** module in Xoro. Xoro creates separate Sales Orders for the different Shopify fulfillments.

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FGMyksZrA32tZhWe6idn0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2763d32d-dcec-4687-b55b-20ff56376641" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2FfwKv1mF4JVR87iCFGv6X%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=75ee519c-760f-419c-97f9-3666ce4e52c2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://3188343778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fkf8DNCjEfcSm64PCPcmf%2Fuploads%2Fkszt6Scu2yxsPIQt9tMi%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a841f08c-b600-41ef-b8f4-2f01dabbadd1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Both Sales Orders retain the same **Ref No**, linking them to the original Shopify order. The **Third Party Ref No** in the Other tab is uniquely suffixed with **-1**, **-2**, and so on to distinguish the individual split orders.

{% hint style="info" %}

* Inventory must be available at the respective mapped locations before importing the Shopify order.
* The locations used for fulfillment must be correctly configured in both Ship Store Location Mappings and Store Mapping.
  {% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/xoroerp-1/connected-apps/shopify/splitting-shopify-orders-by-fulfillment-location/shopify-fulfillment-as-split-orders.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
