The **Manufacturing Lab Report** module in **XoroERP** provides a comprehensive framework for capturing, validating, and managing key manufacturing data such as item specifications, catalyst properties, manufacturing dates, and quality-related notes. This module enhances quality control, standardization, and regulatory compliance across the manufacturing lifecycle.

This document outlines the complete workflow—from enabling the module to defining Item Specifications, creating Catalyst Property Profiles, setting up Catalysts, and generating Manufacturing Lab Records.

### Understanding the Manufacturing Lab Report System

The Manufacturing Lab Report system is designed to provide structured documentation and operational clarity across manufacturing processes. It ensures:

* Accurate specification management
* Standardized catalyst configuration
* Complete manufacturing record documentation
* Validation and duplicate prevention
* Improved traceability and compliance

The system consists of three core components:

#### **1. Item Specification**

Defines the physical, chemical, performance, or quality attributes required for an item.

#### **2. Catalyst Management**

Allows creation of catalyst property profiles and catalyst entries used in the manufacturing process.

#### **3. Manufacturing Lab Record**

Combines Item Specifications and Catalyst data to document requirements for BOM-based manufacturing.

The Item Specification module depends on:

* **Item Specification Class**
* **Item Specification Property**
* **Item Specification UOM**
* **Item Specification Test Method**

The Catalyst module depends on:

* **Catalyst Property Profiles**

Together, these modules provide a complete documentation and validation framework for manufacturing operations.

### Enabling the Manufacturing Lab Report Module

Before you can use any of the related modules, the **Lab Record Module** must be enabled.

#### Steps to Enable the Module

1. **Navigate to General Settings**\
   Go to **Menu → General Settings**.
2. **Enable Lab Record Module**\
   Turn on the toggle **Enable Lab Record Module**.
3. **Access the Module**\
   After enabling, go to:\
   **Manufacturing → Manufacturing Lab Report Module**

All sub-modules (Item Specification, Catalyst Property Profile, Catalyst, Manufacturing Lab Record) will now be available.

#### What is Item Specification?

The **Item Specification** module defines and manages the detailed technical specifications associated with manufacturing items. Specifications include properties, UOMs, test methods, and required values.

### Creating Item Specification

#### Step-by-Step Process

**1. Access the Module**

Navigate to:\
**Menu → Manufacturing → Manufacturing Lab Record → Item Specification**

**2. Define Specification Header**

Enter:

* A unique Specification Name
* The **Item Specification Class** from the dropdown

**3. Add Specification Lines**

Click **Add Line**, then fill in:

* **Item Specification Property**
* **UOM**
* **Test Method**
* **Required Value**

Repeat for all required specification attributes.

Each line defines one specific measurable requirement or property for the manufacturing item.

#### Understanding Catalyst Property Profiles

A **Catalyst Property Profile** is a template containing up to five properties that define the characteristics of a catalyst used in manufacturing.

Catalyst profiles ensure:

* Error reduction and improved traceability

### Creating Catalyst Property Profiles

#### Steps

1. **Navigate to the Module**\
   Menu → Manufacturing → Manufacturing Lab Records → Catalyst Property Profile
2. **Define Profile Name**\
   Enter a descriptive and relevant profile name.
3. **Set Properties**\
   Define up to five catalyst properties (Property 1–Property 5).
4. **Save Profile**\
   Save the template for use during catalyst creation.

| **Name**       | Name of the Catalyst Property Profile. Used as its identifier. |

After saving the profile, the defined property names will automatically populate when creating Catalysts.

The Catalyst module manages catalysts used in manufacturing operations. Catalysts increase the rate of chemical reactions without being consumed, playing a vital role in ensuring efficient manufacturing processes.

This module allows users to:

* Create Catalyst entries
* Associate each Catalyst with its Catalyst Property Profile
* Standardize catalyst attributes across all manufacturing activities

### Creating Catalysts

#### Complete Process

1. **Navigate to Catalyst Module**\
   Menu → Manufacturing → Manufacturing Lab Records → Catalyst
2. **Enter Catalyst Name**\
   Provide the name that uniquely identifies the catalyst.
3. **Select Property Profile**\
   Choose the Catalyst Property Profile created earlier.
4. **Review Auto-Populated Properties**\
   Properties 1–5 populate automatically from the selected profile.
5. **Save Catalyst**\
   Click **Save** to finalize the catalyst.

#### Catalyst Fields

| Field                         | Description                                      |
| ----------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Name**                      | Unique name for the catalyst.                    |
| **Catalyst Property Profile** | Selects the property profile for this catalyst.  |
| **Catalyst Properties (1–5)** | Auto-populated fields based on selected profile. |

**Important:** No manual editing is needed for Catalyst Properties. They inherit values from the profile.

#### Purpose of Manufacturing Lab Records

A **Manufacturing Lab Record** documents item specifications and catalyst details for BOM items. It ensures complete, validated, and traceable records are associated with manufacturing operations.

Manufacturing Lab Records are used for:

* Quality assurance
* Compliance documentation
* Catalyst tracking
* Recording manufacturing notes and parameters

### Requirements Before Creating a Lab Record

#### **1. Item Specification**

The Item Specification must be fully set up:

* Item Specification Class
* Item Specification Properties
* UOMs
* Test Methods
* Specification lines

#### **2. Catalyst Creation**

Catalysts must be created using Catalyst Property Profiles.

#### Creating a Manufacturing Lab Record

**Step 1: Create Item Specification**

Create sub-fields → define full specification → save.

**Step 2: Create Catalyst**

Create property profile → create catalyst → assign properties.

#### **Step 3: Create Manufacturing Lab Record**

Navigate to: **Manufacturing Order Centre (MO Centre)**<br>

Use **Create Manufacturing Lab Record**, then:

* Select Item Specification
* Select Catalyst
* Enter additional manufacturing details as required

This ensures that all manufacturing requirements are captured and validated.

### Complete Workflow with Sales Orders and BOM Items

The Manufacturing Lab Report Module integrates seamlessly with Sales Orders and Manufacturing Orders.

**Step 1: Create Sales Order with BOM Item**

Add a BOM item in SO Detail.\
Select the Item Specification while adding the BOM item.

**Step 2: Generate Manufacturing Order**

Use **Copy Operations → Create MO** from the Sales Order.\
This transfers the linked Item Specification.

**Step 3: Create Manufacturing Lab Record**

In the MO, click **Create Manufacturing Lab Record**.\
Select the Catalyst and finalize the record.
