# Balance Sheet by Date

### What is Balance Sheet By Date?

XoroSoft's **Balance Sheet By Date** report in the Reporting module provides a detailed view of the company's financial position across multiple dates. The report displays account balances for different periods, allowing users to compare financial values over time.

The report presents account balances under different account types, such as Bank and Undeposited Funds, along with the corresponding Account Name. Values are displayed for each available date, as well as a **Total** column that provides the overall balance for the selected account.

Selecting the **Balance Sheet By Date** report opens the report viewer, where users can select the required reporting period. The report displays the financial balances as of the selected date and provides a breakdown of account balances across multiple dates.

### Selecting Reporting Template

After choosing the **Balance Sheet By Date** option, you'll be prompted to choose a document template. Select the required report template from the **Select Document Template** dropdown to open the report.

#### Balance Sheet By Date Components

The Balance Sheet By Date report provides a date-wise view of account balances. The report contains account information along with the corresponding balances for multiple dates.

The report consists of the following key components:

* **Account Type:** Displays the classification of the account, such as Bank or Undeposited Funds.
* **Account Name:** Displays the name of the account for which the balance is reported.
* **Amount:** Displays the balance of the selected account for each date included in the report. Each date is displayed as a separate column, allowing users to compare account balances across different dates.
* **Total:** Displays the total balance for the respective account across the dates displayed in the report.

### Fields and Interactive Elements

The **Balance Sheet By Date** report provides drill-down functionality for account balances. Users can click on an amount displayed for an account to view the transactions that make up the selected balance.

For example, clicking an amount for an account opens the **Balance Sheet Account Details By Date** window. This window provides detailed information about the transactions associated with the selected account and date.

The detailed view contains the following fields:

| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Txn Number**   | This numerical value serves as a unique identifier generated by XoroERP for referencing the transaction. |
| **Txn Type**     | Represents the type of transaction associated with the selected account, such as Customer Deposit.       |
| **Date**         | Displays the date on which the transaction occurred.                                                     |
| **Account Name** | Displays the name of the account associated with the transaction.                                        |
| **Entity Name**  | Displays the entity associated with the transaction.                                                     |
| **Ref Number**   | Displays the reference number associated with the transaction.                                           |
| **Store**        | Displays the store associated with the transaction.                                                      |
| **Amount**       | Displays the monetary value associated with the transaction.                                             |

The detailed transaction view also displays the total amount for the transactions returned for the selected account and date.

Furthermore, users can click on an individual **Txn Number** to open the journal view of the transaction. The journal view provides a more detailed view of the financial entries associated with the selected transaction, including its Debit and Credit entries.

#### Period

XoroERP allows users to select the timeframe for which they want to view the Balance Sheet By Date report. The **Period** panel is displayed on the right side of the report viewer and provides several predefined period options.

Users can select options such as:

* **Custom**
* **Today**
* **This Week**
* **This Week-To-Date**
* **This Month**
* **This Month-To-Date**
* **This Calendar Quarter**
* **This Calendar Quarter-To-Date**
* **This Fiscal Quarter**
* **This Fiscal Quarter-To-Date**
* **This Calendar Year**
* **This Calendar Year-To-Date**
* **This Fiscal Year**
* **This Fiscal Year-To-Date**
* **Yesterday**
* **Last Week**
* **Last Week-To-Date**
* **Last Month**
* **Last Month-To-Date**
* **Last Calendar Quarter**
* **Last Calendar Quarter-To-Date**
* **Last Fiscal Quarter**
* **Last Fiscal Quarter-To-Date**
* **Last Calendar Year**

Selecting a period updates the report to display the corresponding account balances.

### Balance Sheet By Date Report Header Icons

* **Refresh:** This allows you to refresh the report after changing the reporting criteria.
* **Toggle Print View:** This feature enables you to switch the display mode specifically for printing the report.
* **Download:** This feature allows users to export and download the report in the available file formats.
* **Print:** This allows users to print the displayed report.
* **Toggle Parameter Area:** This allows users to show or hide the parameter area on the right side of the report viewer.
* **Zoom In and Zoom Out:** These features allow users to adjust the report's display size for easier viewing and analysis.
* **Toggle Full Page Width:** This feature allows users to expand the report to utilize the available page width or return it to the standard viewing width.
* **Search:** This allows users to search for specific information within the report.
