The Inventory Valuation Summary report provides insights into the current value and cost of each item in the system. The insights gleaned from this report enable businesses to optimize inventory levels, identify slow-moving items, adjust pricing strategies, and enhance overall profitability.
On selecting the option, the system prompts you to choose a document template. Select the "Inventory Valuation Summary" report template from the "Select Document Template" dropdown and click "Print Preview" to open the report.
The valuation report is displayed for a single item. To generate the Inventory Valuation Summary report for a specific item, enter the item number in the designated "Item Description" column on the right-hand side of the report interface and press enter.
Item
This field shows the unique identifier for the item.
Description
This field displays the description of the item.
Standard Cost
This field shows the standard cost of the item.
Standard Price
This field shows the standard price of the item.
On Hand
This field shows the on hand quantity of the item currently in stock.
Asset
This field shows the total value of the item in stock based on the standard cost.
Markup %
This field displays the percentage increase from the standard cost to the standard price. It is calculated as: Markup % = ((Standard Price - Standard Cost) / Standard Cost) *100.
Margin %
This field displays the profit margin as a percentage of the selling price. It is calculated as: Margin % = ((Standard Price - Standard Cost) / Standard Price) *100.
Average Cost
This field shows the average cost of the item.
For more detailed information on an item's valuation, the Inventory Valuation Detail report is available. By clicking on the item number in the summary report, users can access all transaction details associated with the item. This includes every transaction that has influenced the current valuation.
Store
This field shows the store associated with the transaction.
Item
This fields shows the unique identifier of the item.
Txn Type
This field shows the type of transaction, such as Item Receipt, Invoice, Inventory Adjustment, etc.
Reference No
This field shows the reference number associated with the transaction for easy tracking purposes, such as the Item Receipt number, Invoice number, etc.
Source Ref No
This field shows the source reference number of the transaction.
Date
This field shows the date of the transaction.
Entity Name
This field displays the name of the entity (customer, vendor or store) associated with the transaction
Qty
This field shows the item quantity involved in the transaction.
Cost
This field shows the amount of the transaction.
On Hand
This field shows the current on-hand quantity of the item.
Asset
This field shows the current asset value of the item.
Avg. Cost
This field shows the average cost of the item.
Furthermore, users can click on the transaction record to view the journal entry details associated with the transaction.
Refresh: This allows you to refresh the search results after changing the search criterion.
Toggle Print View: This feature enables you to switch the display mode specifically for printing the report. When activated, it adjusts the formatting and layout of the report to optimize its appearance when printed out.
Toggle Parameter Area: This functionality enables you to switch the parameter area's visibility, located on the right side of the Income Statement By Class Window. Toggling this setting allows you to show or hide the parameter options, giving you more control over the display and customization of the Income Statement By Class details.
Download: This versatile feature allows users to export and download data in various file formats, providing a summarized overview for quick reference. Options include CSV, TXT, MS-Word, MS-Excel, PDF, and MS Excel (.xlsx), catering to diverse user preferences and use cases.
Advanced Search: The Advanced Search option elevates customer information retrieval to a sophisticated level. Users can delve into a nuanced search by specifying criteria facilitating precise and tailored searches.
Zoom In and Zoom Out: These features in XoroERP's reporting module allow users to adjust the view of the report according to their preferences. Zooming In increases the size of the report elements, making them easier to read and analyze, while Zooming Out decreases the size for a broader view. These options are particularly useful when dealing with detailed reports or when users need to focus on specific sections of the report.
Toggle Full Page Width: This feature enables users to toggle between displaying the report at its full page width or adjusting it to fit the screen width. When toggled to Full Page Width, the report expands to utilize the entire width of the viewing area, ensuring that all elements are fully visible and enhancing readability. On the other hand, toggling off Full Page Width may be useful for viewing multiple reports simultaneously or when a narrower view is preferred for better organization of the workspace.
