# Limiting User Access to Inventory Information

User Store Mapping can also be used to limit the access to inventory information of specific stores. By limiting user access to specific inventory modules, organizations can ensure that employees only have access to the inventory data relevant to their roles. Users will be able to view the inventory information of only those stores that they’ve been granted permission to access.

This approach not only enhances security but also streamlines user experience by showing them only the information they need. User’s access can be limited to different Inventory modules so that they are

An app config, "**Restrict Inventory By User Store Mapping"** is available to facilitate this feature.

If this setting is enabled, then the stores will be restricted by user store mapping in store dropdowns and in the following inventory modules: Item Inventory Snapshot, Inventory By Location, Inventory Change Log, Batch Inventory Movement, Short Inventory Planner, and Inventory Adjustment Centre.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/xoroerp-1/admin/user/user-store-mapping/limiting-user-access-to-inventory-information.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
