Creating order types involves entering the name and the code of the order type. Once an order type is created, you can assign the order type to the sales and purchase order for effective categorization and management.
To create the order type, enter the following details:
Name: This field allows you to enter a name for the order type. This name should be able to ensure easy identification and understanding of the order type. For example, you could create order types such as "Standard Order," "Rush Order," or "Bulk Order".
Code: This field allows you to assign a unique code to the order type. The code is typically a short alphanumeric string that makes it easy to reference the order type in the system. For example, you can use the code "STD" for "Standard Order," "RSH" for "Rush Order," and "BLK" for "Bulk Order".
After entering the details, click "Save" to create the order type.
Once you have created order types, you can apply them to your sales and purchase orders to ensure proper categorization and handling.
Create or Edit a Sales Order: To apply an order type to a sales order, either create a new sales order or edit an existing one.
Navigate to the "Other" Tab: Within the sales order module, go to the "Other" tab. Here, you will find the option to select the order type.
Select the Order Type: From the "Order Type" option in the "Other" tab, choose the appropriate order type for the sales order. This selection will categorize the sales order according to the defined order type, which can be useful for reporting, processing, and fulfillment.
Create or Edit a Purchase Order: Similar to sales orders, you can apply an order type to a purchase order by creating a new one or editing an existing order.
Navigate to the "Purchase" Tab: In the purchase order module, you will find the "Order Type" option under the "Purchase Tab".
Select the Order Type: Select the order type from the dropdown menu. This will categorize the purchase order accordingly, aiding in procurement management and analysis.
By creating and applying order types, you can streamline your processes, improve organization, and gain valuable insights into your sales and procurement activities.
