The Receive Mixed Carton module in XoroWMS is designed to simplify and accelerate the receiving process by allowing warehouse staff to receive multiple items in a single step. Traditionally, receiving inventory required scanning and entering each item separately, which was both time-consuming and prone to errors. This new enhancement eliminates repetitive tasks, improves accuracy, and enhances warehouse efficiency by consolidating item entries before finalization.
In a warehouse environment, mixed cartons contain multiple SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) in a single box. Before this update, users had to:
Scan one item at a time, manually entering its quantity.
Repeat the process for each item within the carton.
Manually verify received inventory, which increased the risk of errors.
With the Receive Mixed Carton module, users can: ✅ Receive multiple items in one go instead of handling them one by one. ✅ Speed up the receiving process by reducing repetitive data entry. ✅ Minimize errors by reviewing and confirming the entered data. ✅ Enhance visibility with a consolidated list of received items. ✅ Automate LPN generation for better tracking and warehouse management.
This feature is particularly beneficial for high-volume warehouses where efficiency and accuracy are critical for smooth operations.
The Receive Mixed Carton process consists of multiple steps, each requiring specific inputs. Below is a breakdown of each screen in the workflow.
At the start of the receiving process, users need to input the items and their corresponding quantities.
Item: Enter or scan the SKU/item number of the product being received.
Qty: Enter the quantity for each item.
Add Multiple Items: Users can input multiple items before moving to the next step.
The system now requires an LPN (License Plate Number), which is essential for tracking inventory throughout warehouse operations. Users have two options:
Manually Enter LPN: If a predefined LPN is available, it can be manually entered into the system.
Auto Generate LPN: Users can let the system automatically generate an LPN for the received items.
Accept Button: Once the LPN is assigned, clicking Accept moves the process to the next step.
In this step, users need to associate the received items with a specific pallet.
Pallet #: Scan or manually enter the pallet identifier.
This step helps in proper inventory organization, ensuring that the received carton is stored correctly in the warehouse.
Accept Button: Clicking Accept confirms the pallet association and proceeds to the next stage.
Now, users must assign the received items to a stage location before final placement.
Stage Location: Enter or scan the warehouse location where the mixed carton should be placed.
Accept Button: Clicking Accept finalizes the receiving process and triggers the option to print a label for easy identification.
Once the receiving process is complete, users can print a label containing the details of the received mixed carton. This label can be used for:
Internal tracking within the warehouse.
Easy identification during putaway or shipping.
Inventory reconciliation when needed.
The process to receive a mixed carton in XoroWMS consists of the following steps:
Navigate to WMS → Receiving → Receive Mixed Carton.
Scan or enter the item numbers and their respective quantities.
Review the entered items and click Accept to proceed.
On the Scan LPN page:
Either manually enter the LPN, OR
Click Auto Generate to let the system create an LPN.
Click Accept to proceed.
Enter or scan the Pallet Number to associate the received items with a specific pallet.
Click Accept to continue.
Enter or scan the Stage Location where the pallet should be placed.
Click Accept to finalize the receiving process.
The system will now allow users to print a label for the received mixed carton.
The label contains all relevant information, ensuring smooth tracking and storage.
