The Scan Pick Location module in the XoroWMS application helps to guide the warehouse personnel through the process of picking items from specified locations. After identifying the cart and OLPN where picked items will be placed, the system directs users to the precise location and ILPN where the items are stored for efficient retrieval.
This module helps ensure accuracy by suggesting the correct location and LPN from which to pick items. It simplifies the picking process by auto-filling the necessary details, ensuring compliance with system-suggested locations and ILPNs.
Location: This field specifies the location within the warehouse from where the items should be picked. The location is auto-filled by the system based on inventory data.
ILPN#: This field allows users to specify the LPN from where the items will be picked. The system suggests the appropriate ILPN# at the top-right corner of this field.
Confirm Location: The system auto-populates the location field with the designated area from where the items need to be picked. Users verify that they are in the correct location before proceeding.
Specify ILPN#: Users must enter the ILPN# for the container from which the items will be picked. The system suggests the correct ILPN, which appears in the top-right corner of this field. It is crucial that users follow the system’s suggestion to maintain accuracy in the picking process.
Click "Accept": After specifying the location and ILPN#, users click the "Accept" button to confirm the details and move to the next step in the picking process. This step enables users to begin entering the item and quantity details for picking.
Repeat the process: If there are multiple items in the pick task, repeat the process for all the items to complete the picking. You can use the arrows located at the bottom of the screen to through the items and pick as desired.
At the bottom of the Scan Pick Location module, key details are displayed to help users verify the items they are about to pick:
UPC: This is the Universal Product Code associated with the item being picked.
Item#: This is the unique item number in the system, used for tracking and identification.
SKU: This field displays the identifier value for item on basis of selected identifier type in "Secondary SKU Identifier Type In WMS Screens" app config.
Desc: This is the description of the item.
OLPN#: This is the LPN associated with the container where the items are placed after being picked.
When a pick task includes multiple items, the system provides an easy way to navigate the list of items using navigation arrows at the bottom of the screen. Here's how it works:
Single Arrows:
The left and right single arrows allow users to move between items one at a time.
Clicking the right single arrow takes you to the next item in the list.
Clicking the left single arrow takes you to the previous item.
Double Arrows:
The double arrows enable quicker navigation by taking users to either the very first or the very last item in the task.
Clicking the right double arrow jumps directly to the last item in the list.
Clicking the left double arrow jumps directly to the first item.
This navigation feature gives users the flexibility to choose the order in which they pick items, allowing them to prioritize items if necessary or simply move through the task in a preferred sequence.
In the Scan Pick Location module, the option to mark an LPN as missing is used when the picker is unable to locate the LPN during the picking process. This function helps to update inventory records accurately and ensure missing items are tracked for further review.
To mark an LPN as missing, follow these steps:
Click on "Missing LPN?" In the Scan Pick Location module, click on "Missing LPN?" when the LPN is not found during the picking process. Once selected, the system prompts you to input the quantity of items found in the LPN.
Enter the Quantity
Once the "Missing LPN?" option is selected, the system will prompt the user to enter the quantity of items still accounted for within the LPN. This step ensures that the system has an accurate reflection of what is available or missing.
If no items are found: Enter "0" to indicate that none of the items in the LPN were located.
If some items are found: Enter the exact quantity of the items that were found. This allows partial records for the LPN to be updated in the system.
Click "Accept" After inputting the quantity, click the "Accept" button to confirm the action. This marks the LPN as missing in the system and removes it from the current pick task.
Once you have marked an LPN as missing, several important updates occur within the inventory system:
Removal from Pick Task: The LPN will be removed from the current picking task, allowing warehouse operations to continue without bottlenecks.
Inventory Update: The inventory status will be updated to reflect that the items within the LPN are marked as "Not Available." Users can view this update in the Inventory By Location module within XoroERP. Here, the missing items will be categorized under the "Not Available" quantity, ensuring that all team members are aware of its status.
Cycle Count Queue Addition: The missing items are also added to the Cycle Count Queue in the Generate Cycle Counts module. This facilitates the process of verifying the inventory, as missing items can be counted during subsequent cycle counts. If these items are found, they can be registered back into the system.
Cycle Count Process: If the items in the missing LPN are found during the cycle count, they can be registered back into the system. Upon accepting the cycle count entry, the inventory is automatically updated, and the items are moved from the "Not Available" category back to Available status.
