# What is Manufacturing Process?

When handling manufacturing orders, it's common practice to incorporate a manufacturing process to specify the methods employed in transforming raw materials into finished goods. The manufacturing process is a sequence of steps that transforms raw materials into finished products.

It involves a combination of human labor, machinery, and technology to produce goods on a large scale. This process is fundamental to the production of a vast array of items we use daily, from clothing and electronics to vehicles and food products.

### Types of Manufacturing Processes

Manufacturing processes are diverse and varied, tailored to the specific requirements of different industries and products. Here are some common types of manufacturing processes:

* **Machining:** Involves shaping and finishing raw materials through processes, like cutting, drilling, milling, or grinding.
* **Forming:** Utilizes heat, pressure, or mechanical force to shape materials into desired forms, such as forging, casting, or stamping.
* **Assembly:** Involves combining various components or parts to create the final product. This may include manual assembly or automated assembly lines.
* **Finishing:** Includes surface treatment processes like painting, coating, polishing, or plating to enhance the appearance and functionality of the product.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.xorosoft.com/xoroerp-1/manufacturing/manufacturing-process/what-is-manufacturing-process.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
