The Move Inventory module in the XoroWMS application facilitates inventory movement, whether between different stores or within the same store. This module offers users a flexible and efficient way to handle inventory relocation, ensuring that stock is accurately tracked and transferred.
The inventory movement process involves choosing the inventory movement method and the type of inventory movement. The users then specify the inventory to move and the location they want to move the inventory.
Upon selecting the Move option, the system will redirect you to the Assign Store module, where the store defined in your User Settings will be displayed. This is the designated source store for any inventory movements you will initiate. XoroWMS supports both Inter Store and Intra Store inventory movement, allowing for seamless management of stock across multiple locations.
Intra Store Movement: This process involves moving the inventory within the same store.
To move inventory within the same store, follow these steps:
Click Start Inventory Movement to initiate the inventory movement process.
Inter Store Movement: This process involves moving the inventory between stores. To move inventory between two stores, follow these steps:
Select the Inter Store Movement option.
Enter the To Store Code and press Enter.
Click on Start Inventory Movement to begin the movement process.
Once you select this option, you will be navigated to the "Move Inventory Type" module, where the users can select the type of inventory movement. XoroWMS offers users three types of inventory movement:
Item
LPN
Pallet
The Move Inventory by Item function in XoroWMS allows users to relocate one or more items from one location to another within the warehouse. This feature supports efficient inventory management, ensuring accurate stock placement and movement tracking.
This function is essential for warehouses handling high-volume transactions, enabling seamless inventory relocation while maintaining clear visibility of stock locations.
This field requires users to enter the LPN number from which the inventory needs to be moved.
If the inventory is stored in a Virtual Location, users should enter the corresponding From Location instead of an LPN.
This ensures that the system accurately records the inventory’s current location before movement.
Users must enter the Item Number or UPC to specify which item needs to be relocated.
Clicking on the three-dot menu next to the Item field opens the Item Inventory Details pop-up.
This provides an overview of where the item is currently stored and on which LPNs the item exists.
This feature helps users make informed decisions regarding inventory movement.
Users must input the quantity of items they intend to move.
The quantity can be increased or decreased based on the available stock at the selected LPN or location.
This allows flexibility in partial or full stock relocation, depending on operational needs.
Clicking on the Move button opens a pop-up where users must enter the Location or ILPN# to which the item will be moved.
The system verifies the entered details before confirming the movement to ensure accuracy.
This process ensures that inventory is assigned to the correct destination, maintaining an organized warehouse structure.
The Memo field allows users to enter additional notes or details related to the inventory movement.
This field can be used to document:
Specific instructions for warehouse staff.
The reason for the inventory move.
Any other operational notes that may be necessary for tracking purposes.
This option enables you to move all the items associated with a specific LPN from one location to another, such as a new pallet or a different warehouse location. To move inventory by LPN, follow these steps:
LPN#: Enter the LPN number and press Enter. Once entered, the system will automatically populate the following fields:
Item#/UPC: This field will display the unique item number and the Universal Product Code (UPC) associated with each item contained in the LPN.
Location: This field specifies the current warehouse location where the items under the LPN are stored. It helps you confirm where the inventory is being moved from.
On Hand Qty: This field indicates the total quantity of the item in the LPN currently in the warehouse, including both available and unavailable stock.
SKU: This column displays the identifier value for item on basis of selected identifier type in "Secondary SKU Identifier Type In WMS Screens" app config.
To Pallet/Location: Enter the destination where the LPN’s contents will be moved. This can be a new or existing pallet, or a warehouse location.
Accept: Finally, click "Accept" to complete the inventory movement.
Please Note: If you are moving the inventory to a pallet, you have the option to move the inventory to a new or existing pallet. If you enter a new Pallet, the system will pop a message warning that this is a new pallet and ask you to specify the location for this pallet. Enter the location in the Location field and select Move LPN to proceed.
The Move Inventory by Pallet option allows users to move an entire pallet from one location to another within the warehouse. This feature is ideal when relocating a large group of items contained on a pallet. Follow these steps to move inventory by pallet:
Pallet: Enter the Pallet Number you want to move and press Enter. Once entered, the system will automatically populate the following fields based on the pallet details:
LPN#: This field displays the License Plate Number (LPN) associated with the pallet. The LPN is a unique identifier for tracking the contents of the pallet.
Item#/UPC: This field shows the item numbers and their associated Universal Product Codes (UPC) that are contained on the pallet. This helps verify the exact items being moved.
Location: This field specifies the current location of the pallet in the warehouse, indicating where it is currently stored.
On Hand Qty: This field indicates the total quantity of the item on the pallet currently in the warehouse, including both available and unavailable stock.
To Location: Enter the destination location where you want to move the pallet. This can be another storage area within the same warehouse or a designated staging location.
Accept: Finally, click Accept to complete the pallet movement.
The Move Inventory module in XoroWMS is designed to streamline the inventory movement process, enabling users to efficiently manage the relocation of goods both within and between stores. By following the outlined steps, users can ensure accurate, timely, and organized inventory management, ultimately contributing to improved operational efficiency.
