What is a Bill of Material (BOM)?

A Bill of Material (BOM) serves as a comprehensive list detailing the raw materials, sub-assemblies, and labor required for manufacturing a specific item. It outlines the quantity, description, and specifications of each component essential for producing the final product. With BOMs, manufacturers gain insight into the materials consumed during the production process.

Features of BOM Module:

• Single-Level and Multi-Level BOMs: XoroERP supports both Single-Level and Multi-Level BOMs.

  • Single-Level BOM: Lists all direct components or raw materials utilized in manufacturing a product.

  • Multi-Level BOM: Includes components that can be produced internally, along with sub-BOMs for such materials.

• Creating a BOM:

  • Users input essential details such as manufacture item number, BOM name, instructions, validity, and revision number.

  • Components, item quantities, and instructions are added to the BOM.

• BOM Revisions:

  • Allows continuous updates to BOM specifics throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Provides a historical log of revisions for analysis and cost monitoring.

  • Revisions can be created within the BOM module or via file upload.
