Notifications

The Notifications module lists all the internal notifications received by the user in the system, such as notifications for items received on a Purchase Order (PO), payments received, and task updates. This module is designed to ensure that you are always in the loop.

The Notifications module is tailored to each user. When you log into the system, you will only see the notifications that pertain to your account. This personalized approach helps to minimize information overload and ensures that you can focus on the notifications that matter most to you.

To access the notifications, go to Menu > User > Notifications

Types of Notifications

The Notifications module categorizes notifications into several types to keep you informed about different aspects of your workflow. The key types of notifications include:

  • Item Received: This notification is triggered when an item is received on a Purchase Order (PO), alerting the user to the arrival of the ordered goods. This ensures you're aware of incoming shipments and can track their progress.

  • Payment Received: This notification informs the user about the receipt of a payment, which could be related to a sales transaction or any other financial activity, such as the notification on the payment for a customer deposit.

  • Task Created: Users are notified when a new task is assigned to them, enabling them to stay on top of their work and ensure timely completion.

  • Task Updated: If a task that has been assigned to the user is updated, the user will receive a notification to stay informed about the changes.

  • Comment notification: If the user has been tagged in a comment, the user will received a notification. To receive this notification, the "Internal Notification" option must be selected in the "Comment notification type" app config.

Previewing and Editing Transactions

One of the standout features of the Notifications module is the ability to preview the corresponding transactions directly from the notification list. The notification includes the reference number (such as the order number, customer deposit number) and the payment amount, if applicable to give you the details at a glance.

By double-clicking on a notification, you can view detailed information about the transaction. For instance, double-clicking on an "Item Received" notification will allow you to preview the associated Purchase Order. From this preview, you can further edit the Purchase Order as needed, streamlining your workflow and ensuring all information is up-to-date.

In conclusion, the Notifications module helps in managing your day-to-day activities efficiently. By providing timely and relevant updates, allowing easy access to transaction details, and enabling quick edits, this module ensures that you remain informed and responsive to changes.
