Create Product
A Product, also known as Base Part represents a particular style or parent of an item(s). Once a product is created, you can proceed to generate product variants, or you can create a single item corresponding to the product using the Item module.
Creating a Product
When creating a product, you will begin by entering the basic information, such as product name, handle, title, etc. Once the basic information is set, you can proceed to define the option name and values for the product. You also have the option to add a product description or image(s), if any.

Create Product Fields
Base Part Number
Enter a base part number (or style number) here. This is the skeleton SKU from which unique SKUs will be generated. Many SKUs can have the same Base Part. For example, Base Part Number: TEE-SHIRT, Item Number: TEE-SHIRT-RED-LRG.
Handle
This field allows you to enter a unique identifier used for matching products in third party apps like Shopify etc.
Category
Select the category of the product here. For instance, it can be Apparel, Games or Footwear. You can add the category from the 'Product Category' module.
Title
This field allows you to add a title for the product here. This title is displayed in the third party apps selling the product.
Option 1
This field allows you to enter the first attribute or variant of the product. For Apparel items, this would typically be 'Color'. Please note that product options can be created via the ‘Product Option’ module.
Values for Option 1
This field allows you to enter a value for the first variant of the product. For example, if option 1 is Color, then this value can be 'Black'.
Option 2
This field allows you to enter the second attribute or variant of the product. For Apparel items, this would typically be 'Size'.
Values for Option 2
This field allows you to enter a value for the second variant of the product. For example, if option2 is Size, then this value can be 'Medium'.
Option 3
This field allows you to enter the second attribute or variant of the product. For Apparel items, this can be ignored.
Values for Option 3
This field allows you to enter a value for the third variant of the product. For example, if option 3 is 'Shape', then the value can be 'Circle'.
Tags
This field allows you to select the tag(s) to append to the product. Please note that if the tag is not available in the list, users have the option to create new tags while entering a new tag based on the "Allow to auto create Tags" app config. If this config is enabled for product tags, entering a new tag for a product will automatically create it within the system.
Product Description
Enter a description for the product here. You can also add images to the product in this section. Click here to know how.
Minimum Sell Quantity
This allows you to define the lowest quantity of an item that can be sold in a single sales transaction.
After filling in the details, click "Save" to create the product.

All the products created in the system will be listed in the 'Product Centre'.
Product Matrix Generator
After the product is created, you will then proceed to create variants. This can be done in two ways:
From the 'Product' module
To create the product variants from the product module, follow the steps below:
Once the product is created, a "Generate Variants" option will be enable in the product module.
Clicking on the "Generate Variants" option will take you to the Item module, where you can generate the product variants.
In the Item module, you have the flexibility to define the sequence for the Item name and description. For example, the sequence could be set as Basepart-Option1-Option2. Using this sequence, all the product variants will be generated automatically. However, if you leave these attributes blank, the system will use the existing sequence for generating variants.
After setting the pattern, enter the "Standard Unit Cost" and "Standard Unit Price" and click on "Generate Variants" to create the Item variants for the product.
From 'Product Matrix Generator' module
Product Matrix Generator is a module designed to create variants of a product, using all possible combinations of option values. To create the variants, follow the steps below:
Go to Menu > Admin > Product > Product Matrix Generator.
Select the product from the "Base Product" dropdown and click on "List Variants".
This will list all the possible permutations of options of the product, both created variants, and potential variants.
If the variants are not yet created, select the ones you would like to create and click "Create/Update (selected)". You can also use this option to update the selected variants.
Click on "Create / Update" to create or update all the listed variants.
Please note that the column values can also be updated by clicking on them or copied across or down by right-clicking on them.
Click on the 9-dot menu to view and update all the product fields.
Adding/Updating Purchase Ratios
Purchase Ratio defines how the quantity of a product is distributed among its variants when placing an order. With this feature, you can define the distribution ratio for each variant of a product. When placing an order, the system will automatically allocate quantities based on the specified ratios.
For example, let's say you have a product with three variant options, and you set the ratio as 1:2:3. If you order 60 units of the product, it will be distributed as 10, 20, and 30 units among the respective variants.
Turn on the “Enable Purchase Ratio for Product Variants” app config to enable the Add/Update Purchase Ratio option in the Product module.

To define the purchase ratios, follow the steps mentioned below:
Open the product for which you want to define the ratios and click on "Add/Update Purchase Ratio".
You will be directed to the "Purchase Ratio" page, where you can set the desired distribution ratio for each variant.
Once the Purchase Ratios are defined, you can proceed to create an Order (Sales or Purchase) or a Purchase.
In the advanced variant finder, you will find an option to add quantities in front of each row.
You can use the (+) and (-) buttons to adjust the quantities or directly enter the desired quantity in the input box and hit enter.
The system will distribute the quantity according to the predefined Purchase Ratios for each variant.
